I asked my friends, "What if I remake Into The Depths?"... Resounding yes all around, so I started working!
Originally, I created ITD: Encore for one reason. Mainly, to prove to myself and to others that standard Gorilla Tag inspired projects were basic and easy to produce. They felt like slop. But honestly, I also did it to revive the child in me who still felt so connected to the VR industry.
In 2024, I released Into The Depths to the world. It sucked - it was really rough around the edges, totally unpolished, and most of the mechanics just weren't coded by me. I'm fairly certain it had a lifespan of MAYBE a month before eventually losing backing. No more updates, no more moderation.
But that month was really, really fun. I just wasn't equipped. So I taught myself EVERYTHING, and returned two years later, to show the world what I'm actually capable of.
I'd like to launch sometime in the first half of 2027. I originally aimed for launch in October, though now I'm honestly not sure if it'll be in a playable state before Christmas. Scope gets to me!
As for updates.. I'd like to update every month or two.
The general idea is "it's ready when it's ready". I don't like rushing myself or forcing anything. Especially since I'm in college! I have a lot on my plate already!!
